Arizona's Grado and Stanford's Hostage Named January's Pac-10 Divers of the Month

WALNUT CREEK, CALIF.- Commissioner Larry Scott announced today that ARIZONA junior Ben Grado and STANFORD junior Meg Hostage have been named Pac-10 Divers of the Month for the month of January.
Grado, who hails from Conifer Colo., turned in five first-place finishes during the month of January, including sweeping the one-meter and three-meter events on consecutive days in meets at Stanford and California. Grado also turned out a winning performance in the one-meter diving event over reigning NCAA champion Drew Livingston in a dual meet against Texas, recording a score of 373.73. He also finished in second place in the three-meter event against Texas with a showing of 386.85.
Hostage won three of her five one-meter competitions in January, earning wins in meets against Arizona State, UCLA and at the Bruin Invitational. Against ASU, Hostage turned in the top score of 301.57 in the one-meter. On the three-meter, the Potomac, Md., native, won the three-meter at UCLA with a score of 285.75 and finished second at the ASU dual.
This is Grado’s first Pac-10 Diver of the Month award and it’s Arizona’s second overall. On the women’s side, this is Hostage’s third monthly award and Stanford’s seventh overall to lead all Pac-10 schools.
