PEBBLE BEACH - Former Cal men's golf Charlie Wi is four shots off the lead after the first day of action at the 2010 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on Thursday. Wi's first-round score of 68 has him tied for 17th but only one shot behind a group of golfers tied for fifth at five-under par. Wi's opening-day round of 68 at Pebble Beach Golf Links consisted of four birdies on the second, sixth, 15th and 18th holes, to go along with 14 pars.

Dustin Johnson leads the tournament after firing an eight-under par 64, while J.B. Holmes and K.J. Choi are tied for second after first-round scores of 65 (-7). All three golfers also played at Pebble Beach. Charley Hoffman sits alone in fourth-place (-6) after shooting a 64 on the par-70 Monterey Peninsula Country Club Shore Course.

Action will continue through Saturday with the golfers playing each of the three courses once (also Spyglass Hill). The 60 pros and 25 teams with the lowest scores through Saturday's action will advance to Sunday's final round at Pebble Beach.
