THE EVENT ... The Oregon State women's swim team will be heading to Long Beach, Calif. this week to compete at the 2010 Pac-10 Women's Swimming Championships Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 24-27 at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool.

LAST YEAR'S PAC-10'S ... Last year was a record setting year for the Beavers at Pac-10s especially for then junior Anna Crandall. Crandall broke three school records at the event including the then longest standing record, the 50-yard freestyle. The Beavers finished eighth overall with Crandall putting up the best individual finish by placing ninth in the 200 freestyle.

LAST TIME OUT ... The Beavers last jumped into the pool when they defeated the University of Idaho 127-103 in the team's season finale. Crandall and sophomore Jenni Dole both recorded two individual victories to lead the team. Crandall won the 200 and 500 freestyle events while Dole won the 50 freestyle with a season best time as well as the 200 backstroke.

MAKING THE CUT ... Going into the Pac-10 Championships, two swimmers, Dole and fellow sophomore backstroker Anna Heller have recorded 'B' standard times in the 100 backstroke. Each year the NCAA establishes what the automatic ('A' standard) and the provisional ('B' standard) qualifying times will be for the NCAA Championships.

YOUNG GUN ... Oregon State welcomed into the program a large freshman class this year, 10 in all, which was led by Rachel O'Brien. O'Brien specialized this season in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly events. She recorded a team best time of 2:01.41 in the 200 butterfly at the US Short Course Nationals in December. She tied for second on the squad with eight individual dual wins this season including sweeping the butterfly events at Arizona State in early January.

WINNING SEASON ... Oregon State finished the season 7-6 overall and 1-4 in conference meets. It is the first time since the 2004 season when it finished 7-4 in head coach Larry Liebowitz's first season at Oregon State.

DUELING THE COMPETITION ... Senior Brittney Iverson led the Beavers in overall individual dual wins this season with nine coming in a variety of events. Her nine wins came in five different events ranging from the 50 freestyle to the 200 individual medley which accounted for four wins. Iverson was followed by O'Brien, Crandall, and Dole who all recorded eight dual wins.
