Ishimatsu Wins Pac-10 Title On 1-Meter

Sophomore Victoria Ishimatsu won her second career Pac-10 diving title and first on 1-meter while freshman Ariel Rittenhouse finished a close second on the first day of the 2010 Pac-10 Women's Diving Championship on Thursday (Feb. 25) in Federal Way, Wash.

The Pac-10 Diving Championships (men's and women's) are being held concurrently with the swimming championships going on this week in Long Beach, Calif.

Ishimatsu won the 1-meter title with a score of 332.80, edging Rittenhouse's 326.25. Ishiimatsu was second in the event last year and her win is Troy's 10th Pac-10 title in the event and the first since 2006. USC has now won 20 Pac-10 diving titles overall, including Ishimatsu's 3-meter win last year.

Sophomore Harrison Jones will attempt to win his first Pac-10 springboard title tonight after qualifying second in finals. He won the conference crown on platform last year.

The second night of finals at the Pac-10 Swimming Championships will begin at 6 p.m. tonight. Junior Presley Bard (50y free), freshman Haley Anderson (500y free), junior Ellie Doran (500y free), sophomore Katinka Hosszu (200y IM) and junior Lyndsay DePaul (200y IM) will all race in the finals.
