NCAA Championship Swimming Field Announced

Six Bruin swimmers have been named to the field of competitors for the 2010 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, held March 18-20 at Purdue University.
Heading to West Lafayette, IN are juniors Brittany Beauchan, Lauren Hall and Sam Vanden Berge, sophomores Bianca Casciari and Yasi Jahanshahi and freshman Laurence Delisle. All three women will compete in three events during the National meet, except Beauchan who will swim just the breaststrokes.
Beauchan heads into the meet with the No. 14 100 (1:00.45) and 200 (2:10.43) breaststroke times in the country.
Hall ranks 30th in the 200 IM (1:58.90), 11th in the 400 IM (4:08.71) and 32nd in the 200 breast (2:12.11).
Vanden Berge ranks 37th in the 500 free (4:44.11), 47th in the 200 free (1:47.68) and 19th in the mile (16:14.24).
Casciari will swim the 200 IM (1:59.75/42nd in NCAA), 100 fly (52.62/14th in NCAA) and 200 fly (1:55.30/8th in NCAA).
Jahanshahi will swim the 100 fly (53.40/34th in NCAA), 200 fly (1:56.55/18th in NCAA) and 500 free (4:48.36/65th in NCAA)
Delisle ranks 37th in the 200 IM (1:59.23), 45th in the 100 back (54.42) and 28th in the 200 back (1:55.48).
The divers will compete next week at the NCAA Zone E Championships (Houston, TX 3/18-20) to decide who will compete with the swimmers at Nationals.
