LONG BEACH, Calif.-- Paced by David Mosko's win the 500 freestyle and the team's win in the 200 freestyle relay, Stanford moved into first place on the second day of the Pac-10 Championships on Thursday.

Stanford has 307 points after the first full day, ahead of Cal (225) and Arizona (222).

David Mosko began the night by winning the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:14.53 as one of five Cardinal to finish in the top-eight netting Stanford 73 points. Mosko is the first Cardinal to win the event at the championships since Jeff Kostoff in 1987.

Trevor Scheid (4:19.28), Michael Zoldos (4:19.44) and Bobby Bollier (4:19.63) finished 4-6, while Morgan Priestly was eighth in the finals.

The Cardinal closed out the night with a win in the 200 freestyle relay, as Alex Coville started the night in front, while Aaron Wayne, Jake Allen and David Dunford kept the lead the rest of the way for a time of 1:17.32, two seconds shy of the Cardinal's Pac-10 record a year ago. It continued an impressive streak for the Cardinal, who have won the event four times in the last five years.

Stanford netted another 43 points in the 200 individual medley paced by freshman Matt Thompson's second place showing of 1:45.71. Curtis Lovelace (fourth) and Josh Charin-Aker (eighth) were also in the top-eight.

Stanford also gained another 44 points in the 50 freestyle paced by Dunford and Alex Coville finishing 2-3 in the event. Dunford finished with a time of 19.51 behind Cal's Nathan Adrian's time of 19.20, while Coville had a mark of 19.60.

Stanford is looking to win its 29th-straight Pac-10 Championship for head coach Skip Kenney.
