Koressel Leads Bruin Women At Ben Brown Invitational

The youth of the women's track and field team opened up the outdoor season on Saturday at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton. Freshman Allison Koressel led the team with an event win in the pole vault. She led a Bruin sweep of the top three places, winning with a vault of 11-7.75. Teammates Karlye Marshall and Liz Goodrich finished second and third, respectively, with identical marks of 11-7.75.

Also in Fullerton, frosh Bri Kogozi led the way in the long jump as she tied for third with a mark of 17-6.75. Junior Dayna Hill was the top finisher for UCLA in the triple jump as she placed fifth with a mark of 37-9.25.

Freshman Mariah Gibson tied for fifth in the high jump (5-3). Newcomer Tina Theriot was 10th in the 800m (2:20.29) and frosh Shadeh Tabatabai was 14th in the 1500m (4:55.86).

The Bruins will continue the outdoor season next weekend at the Northridge Invitational.
