The No. 12 California Golden Bear women's golf team ended the first 36 holes of the Juli Inkster Invitational in San Jose in second place.

The Bears battled rain storms and even hail in the second round on Monday at the par-72 6,223 yard Almaden Golf and Country Club course. The Bears began the day with an early round of 18 holes, posting a 301 team score, putting them in fifth place. In the second round of 18 for the day, the Bears posted an identical 301, putting them in third place after the first day.

In the opening round, sophomores Joanne Lee and Emily Childs each shot a two-over 74. Sophomore Daniela Holmqvist was right behind at +3.

In the second round, Lee and Childs posted identical 75's. Pia Halbig birdied her second to last hole to lead the second round with a two-over 74.
