Micaela Hein Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

ARIZONA STATE junior Micaela Hein has been named the Pac-10 Women's Tennis Players of the Week for March 1-7, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.
Hein of Mission Viejo, Calif., led the Sun Devils to a weekend sweep of Washington State, 5-2, and upset of No. 18 Washington, 5-2. Moving into the No. 2 slot for the first time this season, Hein swept both singles matches. She defeated WSU's Elisabeth Fournier, 6-2, 7-5, then defeated the Huskies' Lina Xu, 6-1, 6-1. Teaming with SR Nadia Abdala, the duo were perfect in doubles play picking up wins over WSU's Lea Jansen/Fournier, 8-2, and Venise Chan/Samantha Smith of Washington, 8-3.
This marks the first-career weekly honor for Hein and the seventh all-time Pac-10 Player of the Week selection for the Arizona State women.
