No. 18 Women's Tennis Keeps Rolling, Tops Louisville 7-0

The No. 18 Arizona State women's tennis team took care of business on Thursday afternoon, sweeping the Louisville Cardinals 7-0. The Sun Devils improved to 10-2 after winning their sixth straight match.
In doubles action, Nicole Smith and Michelle Brycki dropped one game while taking out Kaysara Mandy and Jo-Ann Van Aerde. Ashlee Brown and Kelcy McKenna were next off the court, after they defeated Louise Noe and Stefanie Villajuan 8-2. Junior Micaela Hein and Senior Nadia Abdala finished shortly after, with a 8-3 victory over Mandy Brown and Amelia Harris.
Coach McInerney said, 'It was nice to come back after a good weekend and get the win. I thought we won the doubles point convincingly and [in singles] each of the girls took care of their courts.'
Playing at the No. 1 spot, Hein wasted no time routing Sarah Miller (6-0, 6-1). McKenna didn't drop a game, winning (6-0, 6-0) over Amelia Harris to give the Sun Devils a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Sianna Simmons clinched the match for the devils with a (6-2, 6-3) victory over Gabrielle Duncan at the No. 6 spot. Abdala and Hannah James were the next two off the court, when Abdala defeated Mandy Brown (6-1, 7-6) at the No. 3 spot and James defeated Kaysara Mandy 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 4 spot. Brycki brought the match to a close with her (6-2, 6-7, 10-5) victory over Stefanie Villajuan.
Next up, the Sun Devils face BYU Saturday at 10am at the Whiteman TennisCenter.
