Women's Golf Set to Tee Up at Entrada Classic
March 20, 2010
The Oregon States Women's Golf team heads to the state of Utah to compete in the Entrada Classic, Mar. 22-23 hosted by BYU.
The tournament will be played at the Snow Canyon Golf Course in St. George, Utah, which is par-72, 6,216 yards. It is a two-day, 54-hole tournament consisting of one 36-hole and one 18-hole round.
'We haven't played 36-holes in one day in a very long time, so the women have been working with the sports psychologist to get into that mental stage,' head coach Ris¸ Lakowske. 'We've been practicing on similar greens to what we expect to see at Snow Canyon. We feel very confident about the upcoming tournament.'
The 13-team field consists of BYU, Colorado State, Louisville, Nebraska, New Mexico State, North Texas, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Southern Utah, Weber State, and Wyoming.
Five OSU golfers will hit the course this week with four scores counting toward the team score in each round. This week's lineup consists of seniors Lauren Archer and Brittany Stewart, junior Kristina Gargaro and sophomores Whitney French and Elyse Okada. Freshman Chelsey Lind will play as an individual.
Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com throughout the tournament.
