Women's Hoops To Honor Seniors, 2009-10 Season, With Banquet Next Month

SEATTLE - During the season-ending banquet next month, the Washington women's basketball season will send off its seniors and hand out awards to the student-athletes who made meaningful contributions in the 2009-10 season.
The banquet will be held on April 12 at Maggiano's in Bellevue. Fans are welcome to attend and can purchase a table reservation for $60 a person, or $480 for a group of eight.

The awards the team hands out will be Team MVP, Heart and Hustle Award, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, Tyee Sports Council Community Service and the Kayla Burt Most Inspirational Player award. There will also be awards and recognitions based on statistical accomplishments, such as the Lion's Club Assist Award and the Big Dawg Award, given annually to the team's leading rebounder, and the 101 Club Scholar-Athlete award.
Four Husky seniors played in their final game last Sunday when the team fell, 59-58, at Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the quarterfinals of the WBI.
Fans wanting to attend must register by the deadline on Wednesday, April 7.
