Main Completes First Round at Bay Hill

UCLA sophomore Gregor Main completed his opening round in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Golf and Club Thursday in Orlando, Fla.

Main posted a first-round score of 76 (+4) and was tied with UCLA alumnus Scott McCarron, among others, for 102nd place. J.B. Holmes and Davis Love III were the co-leaders at six-under par 66.

Main began his round well, making a birdie at the first hole and remaining one under par through five. At the sixth, he took a double-bogey seven before playing his last three holes of the front side in two-over par for a score of 39 (+3) on the outward nine. He played the inward nine in one-over par 37 with a bogey at the 13th.

Main earned his spot in the tournament after winning the Southern Amateur last summer in Memphis.

On Friday, Main tees off at x p.m. EDT from the x hole.
