Stanford Around the Grapefruit and Cactus Leagues

STANFORD, Calif.-- Stanford had 11 players in the Major Leagues in 2009, and as spring training is coming near its conclussion, in its coverage has written feature stories on four former Stanford baseball players.

Chris  Carter, who is hitting .421 with his new team, the New York Mets. Read the Feature Here

Sam  Fuld, who played his second season at Wrigley Field with the Cubs in 2009. Read the Feature Here

Jeremy  Guthrie is projected as the second starter for the Orioles, as he will enter his seventh Major League season. Read the Feature Here.

Jed  Lowrie, a member of the Red Sox, has been sidelined due to mono as he tries to make the Boston club. Read the Story Here

Carlos Quentin, the White Sox slugger, who has spent the last four seasons on the South Side of Chicago with the White Sox. Read the Feature Here

In addition, John  Hester, who made his Major League debut with the Diamondbacks last year for former Stanford star and current Arizona Manager, A.J.  Hinch, is hitting .381 in spring training. Jody Gerut, now with Milwaukee, entered Spring Training as the projected fourth outfielder for the Brewers.
