Stanford Looks to Continue Hot Play at Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford's women's golf team will begin play Friday at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational being held at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin.

Joining the Cardinal in the 16-team field include No. 2 UCLA, No. 8 Arizona, No. 20 Texas A&M, No.22 New Mexico, No. 23 Vanderbilt, No. 25 TCU, UC Davis, Washington, Oregon, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Tulsa, Chattanooga, Oklahoma and host Texas.

Teams will tee off at 8:15 CT on Friday and Saturday while Sunday's final round will get underway at 8:45 p.m. The University of Texas Golf Club will measure 6,255 yards and play to a par of 72 for this event.

Stanford is ranked 12th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index following solid performances in three spring events. The Cardinal won the Peg Barnard Invitational on its home course in February and followed up with a third place finish at the rain-shortend Wildcat Invitational in Tucson. Stanford is coming off an eight place finish at the Bruin Wave Invitational.

Freshman Sally Watson has moved up to 26th in the individual rankings released by Golfweek, while junior Rebecca Durham has climbed to 31st.

The field is expected to include three of the top-10 players in the nation in Vanderbilt's Mariana Alex (No. 5) and UCLA's Stephanie Kono (No. 6) and Sydnee Michaels (No. 10).
