Amobi Okugo Makes MLS Debut

Amobi Okugo, the 2009 Pac-10 Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year, made his Major League Soccer debut on Thursday night, playing 19 minutes for the Philadelphia Union in its inaugural game against Seattle Sounders FC. The Sounders won the match, 2-0.
Okugo is one of four former Bruins on the Union roster, along with fellow 2010 draft picks Brian Perk and Kyle Nakazawa and veteran Jordan Harvey, who started and played all 90 minutes. On Seattle's bench were three Bruin players - 2010 first round draft pick David Estrada and veterans Pete Vagenas and Patrick Ianni. In addition, three Bruins are on the coaching staff for Seattle - head coach Sigi Schmid, assistant coach Kurt Schmid and technical director Chris Henderson.
