Dickinson Tied For 12th At Longhorn Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas - Karinn Dickinson is 12th and the Washington women's golf team is tied for 11th in the team standings after the first round of the Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club.

Washington shot a combined +17 (305) on the day and is 10 strokes behind tournament leading UCLA. Host Texas is second, followed by TCU, Oregon and Texas A&M.

Dickinson was one of 10 players that shot a 2-over-par 74 on Friday. She is four strokes off the lead - shared by Shannon Fish of Texas and Sarah Zwartynski of Texas A&M. Dickinson, a Kamiak HS graduate in Mulkiteo, Wash., shot a 37 on both the front and the back.

Dickinson and junior Anya Alvarez were the only Huskies to card birdies on the day - each notching three on the day. Alvarez is +4 overall (76) after the first day of action. She was even after the front nine, but had to count five bogeys to go along with one birdie on the back nine and is tied for 32nd.

Equaling Alvarez at 32nd is sophomore Sadena Parks. Parks tied Dickinson for a team-low four bogeys on the day, but was not able to card any birdies.

Molly Aronsson is tied for 63rd at +7 (79) and Christina Yoon is tied for 74th at +9 (81).
