Cougar Soccer Blanks Gonzaga in Exhibition

PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State women's soccer team, which has advanced to the NCAA Championship each of the last two years, opened its spring season with a 2-0 exhibition victory over Gonzaga, Saturday at Lower Soccer Field.
In the seventh minute, Ashley Loughmiller opened the scoring when she beat the Bulldogs' goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation.
In the 80th minute, Kayla Johnson played a ball into the box and Emma Stolz finished low inside the right post for WSU's second goal. Meghan Berlingo played the entire 90 minutes to record the shutout in goal for the Cougars.
