Baseball To Be Televised Five Times Through End Of Regular Season
March 30, 2010
The Oregon State baseball team announced Tuesday that it will have five of its games broadcast throughout the rest of the 2010 regular season.
Oregon State is teaming with KEZI 9.2 in Eugene and FSN Northwest to have three of the five games televised live from Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. Those games are: May 8 vs. Oregon, May 15 vs. Washington and May 29 vs. Arizona, the second-to-last game of the regular season.
'I think it's great,' Oregon State head coach Pat Casey said. 'It's exposure for our kids and our program. I'm just glad we are chosen and am glad we have the opportunity for Beaver fans to watch us play.'
'We excited to partner with Oregon State and FSN to bring live, Beaver baseball broadcasts to our viewers in Western Oregon,' KEZI General Manager Mark Hatfield said. 'This is a great opportunity to showcase OSU baseball on the market's only local 24/7 news and information station - KEZI 9.2.'
To help accommodate the broadcast, the May 8 game against Oregon has now been moved to a 1 p.m. PT start. The May 15 and May 29 contests will remain 2 p.m. starts.
FSN Northwest will be blacked out in the Eugene area as each of the games will air live on KEZI 9.2 (over the air on 9.2, 309 on Comcast Cable and on Charter Cable 291). All other areas in the FSN Northwest region will have the game air on FSN Northwest.
Additionally, two Oregon State games from the road will be broadcast this season. The April 24 game at Washington State will air live on FSN Northwest, while OSU's contest May 21 at Arizona State will air on FSN. However, it will air on a tape delayed basis the following day with a time to be announced.
The Beavers have appeared on television seven times over the past two seasons, and are 6-1 in games broadcast on TV.
The Beavers now set their sights on this weekend's Pacific-10 Conference opening series with USC. The first game of the series is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. PT. The series will be held at Dedeaux Field in Los Angeles.
Catch each of the three games live on the Beaver Sports Radio Network and Beaver Nation Online (osubeavers.com). Mike Parker will call all the action.
