No. 17 Cal, No. 7 Stanford Visit the LATC This Week
The No. 9 UCLA men's tennis team (10-4; 2-0 Pac-10) hosts two of its biggest matches of the season this week, as top 20 opponents Cal and Stanford visit the Los Angeles Tennis Center this Friday and Saturday. Action kicks off on Friday with the Bruins taking on No. 17 Cal (10-4; 1-0 Pac-10) at 1:30 p.m. UCLA posted a 4-3 victory over the Bears in a non-conference match earlier this season in Berkeley. The Bruins return to the courts on Saturday, hosting No. 7 Stanford (11-3; 1-0 Pac-10) at 1:00 p.m., marking the first meeting between the two teams this season. The non-conference match between the Bruins and Cardinal, previously scheduled Feb. 26 at Stanford, was canceled due to rain. Admission is free for all regular-season matches at the LATC. Fans unable to attend can also follow the action online by clicking HERE.

Free Pizza, Giveaways During Stanford Match
The UCLA marketing department will be at the Stanford match this Saturday giving away pizza to the first 50 fans in attendance. In addition, fans can also participate in the Bruin Trivia Contest for the chance to win prizes which will be given out between singles and doubles.

Bruins Back in the Top 10
UCLA moved up three spaces from No. 12 to No. 9 in the new ITA Rankings released on Tuesday. Individual rankings were also released for the first time in two weeks. Haythem Abid is ranked No. 43 in singles, followed by No. 52 Matt Brooklyn, No. 89 Nick Meister and No. 102 Amit Inbar. In addition to his singles ranking, Meister is also ranked with two different partners in doubles, checking in at No. 41 with Inbar and No. 44 with Abid. This week's complete ITA Rankings can be found by clicking HERE.

Meister Holding His Own at No. 1
With Haythem Abid missing the last several matches, junior Nick Meister has stepped in and more than held his own at the No. 1 singles spot. Playing his first-ever match at the top spot last week against Wichita State, Meister lost just two games en route to a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sven Kasper. He followed that up with two ranked wins on the road, beating No. 54 Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan of Washington, 6-4, 6-7(7), (10-8), and No. 91 Alexander Cornelissen of Oregon, 6-4, 7-6(4). Due to his success, Meister, who is currently riding a six-match winning streak, moved up from No. 111 to No. 89 in this week's ITA Rankings.

Two Home Matches After This Weekend
After hosting Stanford and Cal this weekend, UCLA will have just two more home matches on its 2010 regular-season schedule. The Bruins will take on Pepperdine on April 7 and San Diego on April 20. Both matches begin at 2:00 p.m. UCLA's showdown with San Diego make-up match after the originally scheduled Feb. 6 meeting was postponed due to rain.

Going for 20
With 18 wins apiece, Amit Inbar and Nick Meister are the two players closest to the 20-win mark. Inbar enters the week with an 18-5 overall record, including an impressive 10-1 mark in dual matches. Meister currently owns an 18-7 overall record, and has gone 8-2 in his last 10 matches. The only other player who is close to 20 wins is Matt Brooklyn at 16-8.
