Four GymCats earn All-Conference Honors

The Arizona Women's Gymnastics team had four athletes named to the Pac-10 All-Conference team, the conference announced Wednesday.
'I'm really proud of all four girls, earning five all-conference distinctions out of a total of nine girls who competed last week is great.' Head Coach Bill Ryden said, 'I'm very glad all of their hard work was noticed; all four of them had a great meet, and earned a majority of our scores throughout the season.'
Quirk has competed all-around in every meet, to total a record of hitting 47-48 routines. She posted a career high all-around of 39.100 and earned an all-around score of 38.850 at the Pac-10 Championships. Quirk has also been an all-star for the Wildcats on beam, earning numerous event titles as well as a career high score of 9.90.
Cristello has been a strong performer for the Cats as well, having competed all-around all but two meets within the regular season. Cristello earned second place all-around in the last regular season competition against the University of Denver with a score of 39.050, and followed in the Pac-10 Championships with a career high score of 39.175.
Graham, a well-seasoned vault worker for the Cats has really come into her own this season, competing all-around for the first time in her career as a Wildcat. Graham has posted a number of scores of 9.9 or better on vault and floor, and has been a consistent all-arund contender for the Cats. At the Pac-10 Championships she earned as career high score of 39.400.
2009 All-Conference First Team Floor recipient Sarah Tomczyk began her final post-season appearance strong with the accolades of All-Conference 2nd team in two events; vault and bars. Tomczyk has been a consistent vaulter for the Cats this season, contributing to the numerous team scores of 49.00 or better, as well as racking up a career high of 9.925 against Arizona State in the regular season. Tomczyk has also been a high scoring athlete for the bar team, holding a career high of 9.9 on the event (also scored against Arizona State).
'These girls make me very proud. All of these gymnasts are extremely strong all around, and have been a huge part of the team's success this season. Based on the talent and hard work of these girls, I think they all have a lot more honors to be had in the remainder of the post season.' Ryden said.
