April 1, 2010
League commissioner Larry Scott announced the all-academic squads, and Tilleman finds herself on the first team. Futch, meanwhile, was named to the second team and Rhea is on the honorable mention squad.
For Tilleman, it is her first career Pac-10 All-Academic honor and her second academic honor of the year as she was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Region Second Team during the season. The forward averaged 8.1 points this past season and led Oregon State in rebounding with 7.5 boards per game.
A native of Bozeman, Mont., Tilleman is majoring in natural resources.
For Futch, it is her second career Pac-10 All-Academic honor. She was named to the honorable mention squad after the completion of the 2007-08 honorable mention squad. She completed her Oregon State career this past season, after averaging 6.5 points and 3.3 rebounds over 31 games, 25 of which were starts.
A native of Auburn, Wash., Futch majored in elementary education during her tenure at OSU.
It is also Rhea's second Pac-10 academic honor, her first coming after the 2008-09 season in which she earned first team honors. Rhea played in and started all 31 games for the Beavers this past season, averaging a team-best 15.3 points per game. She became the 16th player in school history to score at least 1,000 points in the process.
Rhea is majoring in exercise and sports science and is a native of Juneau, Alaska. Like Tilleman, the Pac-10 honor is also her second academic award this year as she was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Region 8 Second Team.
