Women's Rowing Travels to Pac-10 Challenge

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 15 ranked Oregon State women's rowing team is heading to Redwood Shores, Calif. this weekend, April 3 and 4, to compete in the 23rd annual Pacific-10 Challenge.

In the Varsity 8+, all six of the teams competing are ranked in the top 20. According to a poll from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, Stanford (No. 2), California (No. 3), Washington (No. 6), Wisconsin (No. 13), Oregon State (No. 15) and Iowa (No. 18) are among the best in the nation.

The regatta begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the varsity 8+ against Wisconsin. Following is the second varsity 8+ at 9:30 a.m., varsity 4+ at 10 a.m. and finally the novice 8+ at 10:50 a.m. Races continue Saturday and into Sunday afternoon.

A weighted points system takes the results from the order of finish in the V8+, 2V8+, N8+ and V4+ races to determine the team champion of the challenge.
