Bruin Women Post Multiple Event Wins At Cal Poly Invitational

The UCLA women's track and field team posted seven event wins on Saturday at the Cal Poly Invitational in San Luis Obispo as the outdoor season continued.

Leading the way for the Bruins were Ashlea McLaughlin, Yasmin Woodruff, Tori Anthony, Lindsay Rowe, Turquiose Thompson and both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams.

McLaughlin won the 800m with a time of 2:10.39, while Joy Eaton was second with a time of 2:17.41. Woodruff won the 200m in a time of 25.07. Rowe was first in the 100m hurdles (13.68) and fifth in the 100m (12.25). Thompson won the 400m with a mark of 54.46. Eaton was also second in the 400m with a time of 54.70.

The 4x100m relay crossed the finish line first in a time of 46.08, while the 4x400m relay team won with a season-best time of 3:45.34.

Anthony won the pole vault with a clearance of 12-11.50. Karlye Marshall was fifth as she cleared a lifetime-best 11-11.50.

The Bruins will return home next weekend to host the annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational April 8-10.
