Carley, DeYoung, Slingsby And 4x100m Relay Win At Mangrum Invitational

Taylor Slingsby won the men's pole vault, John Carley the 3000m, Scott DeYoung the 400m and the men's 4x100m team won the sprint relay title to lead a small contingent of USC track and field athletes competing at the Mangrum Invitational today (April 3) hosted by CS San Marcos in San Marcos, Calif.

The junior Slingsby won the men's pole vault with a PR of 15-9 (4.80m), while DeYoung had a season-best time of 48.70 to capture the 400m title at the Mangrum Invitational.

Carley won the men's 800m race with a PR of 8:36.93 and sophomore Rick Davey took fifth place in the race with a time of 9:06.59.

The men's 4x100m relay team of sophomore Tony Burnett, junior Sean Jackson, freshman Farzad Bozorgzad and DeYoung won with a time of 41.61.

Also, redshirt freshman Elan Hilaire competed in her first race of the season, placing eighth in the women's 400m dash with a time of 60.22.
