Mackenzie Shows Major Improvement At Nabisco Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - Former Husky Paige Mackenzie shot a 2-under par 70 in Saturday's third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship - one of the LPGA's four major championships - to move up 23 spots into 37th overall at +3 (219). Fellow UW grad Louise Friberg shot an even par 72 and is tied for 54th.

Mackenzie (75-74-70-219) had five birdies on the day at Mission Hills Country Club - four of which were on the back nine. The Yakima native is 13 strokes behind leader Karen Stupples.

Friberg (75-75-72-222) highlighted her round with an eagle on the par-5, No. 11 hole. She also had three birdies, but was saddled with five bogeys.

Sunday's final round will televised live on CBS from 12-3 p.m. PT.
