Dawg Duo Performs Well At LPGA Major

April 4, 2010

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. - The Husky women's golf team was well-represented at the Kraft Nabisco Championship -- one of the LPGA's most prestigious events -- this past weekend. Former Dawgs Paige Mackenzie and Louise Friberg each made the cut at Mission Hills Country Club while participated in one of the tour's four major championships.

Mackenzie fared best, finishing in a tie for 34th place at +4 (75-74-70-73=292). She was 1-over-par in today's final round and took home $13,183 for her four-days work.

Friberg, a 2004 UW graduate, ended the tournament at +9 (75-75-72-75=297). She earned $4,730 for her 64th place finish. It marked the first time this year that Friberg has made a cut.

The current Husky women return to action this upcoming weekend at the Lady Sun Devil Invitational. They will play at ASU's Karsten Course, the same site where the UW men just recorded a come-from-behind win this past weekend.
