SAN ANTONIO (AP) -Nnemkadi Ogwumike helped Stanford take control early and kept her team ahead every time things tightened up in the second half, lifting the Cardinal to a 73-66 victory over Oklahoma on Sunday night and into the national championship game.
Ogwumike scored seven of her career-high 38 points in the final 51 seconds and grabbed 16 rebounds to keep Stanford (36-1) unbeaten this season against everyone but Connecticut - and with a chance to meet those mighty Huskies for the title.
Playing in front of family and friends in her home state, Ogwumike scored Stanford's first eight points, then four more during a 13-1 run in the first half. The Sooners (27-11) finally got rolling early in the second half, getting within eight points, but Ogwumike answered with eight points during a 12-4 run.
