WSU Women's Golf Team Travels to Arizona

What's Happening This Week: The Washington State women's golf team will travel to Tempe, Ariz., to play in the Ping/ASU Invitational hosted by Arizona State April 9-11, at the Karsten Golf Course. The 17-team field will play 18 holes each day of the tournament, with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m., Friday.

The Course: Karsten Golf Course, a par 72, will play at 6,230 yards for the event.

The Field: The 17-school field has 16 teams ranked in the top 50 according to golfstat including Alabama (5), Arizona (7), Arizona State (3), California (14), Denver (21), New Mexico (24), Oklahoma State (26), Pepperdine(9), Purdue (8), San Jose State (43), Stanford (13), Texas(31), Tulsa (49), UCLA (1), USC (6) and Washington (36).

Traveling for WSU: This week's lineup will include redshirt junior Allison Travis, sophomore Kristen Allard and freshmen Ali Thompson, Emma Betland and Ellen Park.

Last Time Out: The Cougars finished in 16th at the MountainView Collegiate Invitational a few weeks ago with a three round total of 931 (+67). The team was led by freshman Emma Betland who had her second-best tournament total of her career with a 225 (+9), Finishing in a tie for 18th. It marked her fourth top-25 finish of the season and she was only three strokes back of the top 10.
