The UCLA track and field team will welcome over 20 colleges and some of track and field's finest athletes to Drake Stadium this Thursday through Saturday for the annual Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational. The namesakes of the meet will be honored on Saturday at 2:00 pm.

The meet features a heptathlon/decathlon competition on Thursday and Friday. Friday also features the open section of the meet as well as a distance carnival in the evening. Saturday is the premier day of the meet with invitational events only.

Schools competing this weekend include Arizona, Azusa Pacific, Cal Poly, Cal State Bakersfield, Cal State Los Angeles, Cal State Northridge, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, San Diego, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Francisco State, UC San Diego, Utah State and Washington State.

Some of the professional athletes slated to compete include Felix Sanchez, Carol Rodriguez, Jamie Nieto, Kenneth Ferguson, Lashinda Demus, Norris Frederick, Jason Richardson, David Neville and Sharon Day.

Bruin alums competing include Sheena Tosta, Drew and Kyle Shackleton, Craig Everhart, Greg Garza, Nick Thornton, Megan Jamerson and Jonathan Williams.
