Cougar Soccer Downs Idaho in Exhibition

PULLMAN, Wash. - Tiara Pittman scored two goals and added an assist as Washington State defeated Idaho 3-2 in a women's soccer exhibition match at Lower Soccer Field, April 10.

In the 10th minute, Pittman fed a pass to Brandi Vega to the left side of the 18-yard box. Vega went 1v1 with the Vandals' goalkeeper and found the net with a shot low and inside the far post.

Pittman's first goal came in the 65th minute when she collected the ball off a counter attack on the right side of the 18-yard box and beat the Idaho keeper with a hard shot low to the far post.

In the 72nd minute, Shannon McFadden sent a cross into the box that Pittman headed past the keeper from a tight angle to put WSU on top 3-0.

Idaho picked up a couple of late goals against Ariana Byrd to account for the final score. Byrd played all 90 minutes and earned the victory in goal for the Cougars.

WSU hosts Central Washington at 2 p.m., April 17 in another exhibition match.
