Coordinators Talk Spring Ball

April 14, 2010

TUCSON--According to the four Arizona football coordinators, spring ball was a success and points toward a productive summer and 2010 campaign.

'We found out about the guys who can play for us and the guys who need more work,' as co-offensive coordinator Bill Bedenbaugh said. The offensive line coach and RB/TE leader Seth Littrell conceded that 'In football you have to improve all the time. You have to get bigger, stronger and faster. It's continuous work,' Bedenbaugh said.

They and co-defensive coordinators Tim Kish and Greg Brown met with reporters Wednesday and shared the consensus that UA has front-line players, identified most of them during spring ball, but still expects stiff competition facing everyone in fall camp.

'We tinkered around and experimented to see what different guys could do at different positions,' Kish said, notably at his three linebacker positions and in the secondary where UA should have a corps of eight or nine potential contributors.

The defenders also talksd about some of the formation quirks UA might use, including a swift group along the line in certain situations as opposed to its base unit which normally includes two interior tackles.
