Track Travels to Mt. SAC Relays

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State women's track team will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. April 15-16 and at Lewis & Clark College April 17 in Portland, Ore.
The Mt. SAC Relays is one of the largest track events in the country as well as one of the oldest. The 2010 event will mark the 52nd annual meet which started in 1959. The event it held at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the Campus of Mt. San Antonio College and it has served as the site of two Olympic Track and Field Trials and 20 World Records.
Sandra Martinez and Hannah Soza-Hodgkinson will kick off the competition for the Beavers in an Olympic Development run of the 10,000 meter on Thursday April 15 starting at approximately 8:10 p.m. Martinez has the best time this season in the event with a time of 37:11.19.
The Beavers start competition Friday, April 16 with Abby Chesimet and Sylvia Veal running in the first section of the 1,500 meter of the open university run with Casey Masterson running the 1,500 meter in the Olympic Development run later in the day.
Another group of Oregon State track student-athletes will be competing at Lewis & Clark in Portland, Ore. Saturday April, 17 in three events. They will be competing in the 1,500 meter, 5,000 meter and 3,000 meter steeplechase runs.
