Bruins Stalking Ducks Entering the Final Round at Pasatiempo

The fifth-ranked UCLA men's golf team was trailing No.4 Oregon entering the final round of the 64th Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Club in Santa Cruz, Calif.
The Bruins posted identical scores of 347 (-3) for a 36-hole total of 694 (-6). They trailed the Ducks who were atop the leader board at 692 (-8). Tulsa was third at 716 (+16), followed by fourth-place UC Irvine at 717 (+17) and host San Jose State at 720 (+20).
The Western Intercollegiate is a six-count-five scores format and Pasatiempo is playing to a par of 70 this weekend.
Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Alex Shi Yup Kim continued his impressive play, firing rounds of 68-69--137 (-3). He was in second place, trailing the Ducks' Eugene Wong by two strokes. Junior Connor Driscoll was tied for sixth at 138 (-2) after posting scores of 68-70. Sophomore Gregor Main and freshman Pedro Figueiredo were tied for ninth at 139 (-1). Main posted scores of 72-67 and Figueiredo carded rounds of 68-71. Freshmen Pontus Widegren and Mario Clemens were tied for 25th at 145 (+5). Widegren added scores of 75-70 and Clemens signed for scores of 71-74.
Final round competition continues on Sunday.
