TUCSON, Ariz. - The first game of the 2010-11 season may still be almost seven months away, but the Arizona women's basketball team is back at work as the team's spring workout period is underway.

The team is allowed 45-minute group sessions two times per week to take, a time the coaching staff has been using for individual skill development. The Wildcats are also spending time in the weight room during the week as well as playing pick-up games.

The team conducts its workouts in the Richard Jefferson Gymnasium, which will be undergoing added construction to add a strength and conditioning room on the east end of the facility. The project will be funded with a gift by local philanthropists Cole and Jeannie Davis in partnership with men's basketball coach Sean Miller and his wife, Amy.

The improvements to the facility will give both the basketball and volleyball programs a dedicated strength and conditioning area to help balance time on the court as well as in the classroom. The Davises were also responsible for a $1 million gift that helped name one of the practice courts after former Wildcat all-American Shawntinice Polk.
