Chad Arnold Captures Conference Honor

April 26, 2010

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State University redshirt-junior right-hander Chad Arnold has been named Pacific-10 Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for April 19-25, Commissioner Larry Scott announced, Monday.

Arnold tossed a complete game five-hitter and struck out a career-high 11 to lead the Cougars past then-No. 22 Oregon State 5-1, last Friday in Pullman. The Kennewick, Wash., native retired 13 of the final 14 men he faced and did not allow a runner past first base after the fifth inning. He threw 79 of his 125 pitches for strikes and struck out at least one hitter in eight of the nine frames.

This is the first-career Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week honor for Arnold and the 31st all-time for Washington State.
