Frame Leads Cougars During Second Day of Conference Tournament

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Washington State men's golf team posted a round of 359 (+4) during the third round of the Pacific-10 Conference Championship, Tuesday. The Cougars will enter the final day in 10th place with a three-round total of 1,081 (+16).

The WSU contingent was led by freshman Hank Frame who carded the lowest round of any Cougar at the event thus far, with a score of 2-under par (69). The Spokane, Wash., native marked seven birdies on Tuesday's scorecard, four more than he had in the first two rounds combined.

Sophomore Trent Sanders and senior Kevin Tucker both finished the day at even-par. The round kept Sanders at 2-over for the event while Tucker held steady at 3-over. The duo will tee off tomorrow in a tie for 38th and 42nd, respectively.

Seniors Nick Grigsby and Austin Hurt are separated by a single stroke after two days. Grigsby fired a two-day total of 219 (+6), Hurt finished at 220 (+7).

Junior Nick Ellis posted a 75 (+4) during the third round, putting him at eight-over for the tournament.

Stanford is the team leader right now at 1,023 (-42). Not only will the team look to hold on for the win tomorrow, but also to break the Pac-10 Championship record score of 1,384 (-56), set by Arizona State in 2000. Jesper Kennegard (ASU) leads the field with a score of 196 (-17), two strokes ahead of Stanford's Joseph Bramlett.
