Stephen Paea Lands on Another Watch List

Oregon State University senior defensive tackle Stephen Paea (PIE-uh) has been named to the 2010 Rotary Lombardi Award “Watch” list, it was announced Thursday. 


Paea is a 6-1, 311-pound senior from Los Altos, Calif., who was the co-recipient of the Morris Trophy as the outstanding defensive lineman in the Pac-10 Conference last season.  The 2010 All-America candidate has 19.5 career tackles-for-loss and was an all-conference selection last year.


The Rotary Lombardi Award is presented annually to a lineman from either side of the ball or a linebacker.  The individual must also demonstrate leadership, courage, desire, respect for authority and discipline. The voting electorate is made up of the head coaches from all Division I schools, sports media personnel from across the country and former winners and finalists of the Rotary Lombardi Award.


Earlier this month Paea, a 2009 team captain, was named to the Lott Trophy Watch List which honors athletic performance and integrity on and off the field.


Oregon State concludes spring practice Sat., May 1 with the annual Spring Game at Reser Stadium at 12:15 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can purchased at the Gill Coliseum ticket office or game-day at the south endzone ticket booth starting at 9 a.m. For more details about the Spring Game follow this link.
