Darren Collison Named To NBA All-Rookie First Team

Point guard Darren Collison, a three-year starter at UCLA, was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team, the league announced today.
During his UCLA career, Darren played on three Final Four teams, starting for the 2007 and 2008 squads that advanced to the Final Fours in Atlanta and San Antonio, respectively.
In 2009, he led the Bruins to the second round of the NCAA Tournament while averaging 14.4 points (second on the team) and 4.9 assist (second in the Pac-10).
This past June, he was selected by the New Orleans Hornets in the first round (21st pick) of the NBA Draft.
This season, he had the opportunity to play extensively when Chris Paul was injured and ranked among the top 10 for rookies in scoring (sixth -- 12.4 ppg), assists (T-third -- 5.7 apg) and steals (sixth -- 1.03 spg). Collison was named the T-Mobile Western Conference Rookie of the Month for February.
