Box Score

Seattle, Wash. – Freshman Marina Demore (Vancouver, British Columbia) had a career day, striking out a Oregon State softball team (22-27, 2-13) season best 13 batters, but she lost the pitcher’s duel against the No. 1 Washington Huskies (40-5, 12-3) in the series finale on Sunday at Husky Softball Stadium.

Demore pitched her first career complete game, scattering three hits, making her record 1-2 on the season.

The Beavers threatened in the top of the second after junior Audrey Roderfeld (Vista, Calif.) led off with a single before freshman Kilee Lippincott (Lake Chelan, Wash.) stole second, pinch running for Roderfeld. Sophomore Ashley Sanchez (Alameda, Calif.) singled to put runners on the corners, but the inning closed with the game still scoreless.

Washington broke up the 0-0 game in the bottom of the third on a RBI single by Niki Williams after Demore retired seven straight.

Washington’s Danielle Lawrie earned the complete game win to improve to 30-5.
