BASF Announces Fund Drive Award Recipients

May 3, 2010

Corvallis, Ore. -

On Saturday, May 1, the Beaver Athletic Student Fund (BASF) celebrated the success of the 2010 Fund Drive campaign and announced the prize winners of the '110%' and 'Next Level' Beavers contest.

The commitment of all BASF donors makes the success of Oregon State student-athletes possible.  Thank you to all '110%' and 'Next Level' Beavers for your increased support in 2010; a total of $800,000 in new dollars for athletic scholarships will truly have an impact on the flourishing future of OSU to turn our student-athletes into Everyday Champions.

Jerry Braunberger was the MVP of the 2010 Fund Drive campaign raising $740,989, George Walker was awarded the prize for most new donors with 52 and Bernie McGrath was awarded the prize for Rookie of the Year raising $263,850.

Also recognized this year was Helen Hansen as the recipient of the 2010 Martin Chaves Lifetime Achievement Award.  The annual award is presented to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to OSU Athletics.

We would like to congratulate the prize winners of the '110%' and 'Next Level' Beavers contest.  The lucky winner of the donor trip to Arizona is Scott and Stephanie Gettel of Oregon City.  Scott and Stephanie increased their annual giving from $400 in 2009, to $500 in 2010, becoming members of both '110% Beavers' and 'Next Level Beavers' giving programs.

'My wife Stephanie and I believe we are in a Golden Age of OSU Athletics, not just from the results on the field but more importantly the quality and integrity of the coaching staffs and student-athletes,' Scott said (1994 alum).  'It has been very easy these past few years to be a proud supporter of OSU and we felt by raising our donation to the next level that it was an appropriate way to acknowledge the pride and appreciation we feel towards all of the Oregon State athletes and coaches.'
