SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team opens an important three-game series vs. 12th-ranked UCLA tonight, Friday, May 7, with a 6:00 p.m. game at Husky Ballpark.

The Huskies (24-19 overall, 8-7 in the Pac-10) enter the series on a five-game winning streak, which includes a sweep of then-No. 21 Stanford last weekend in Seattle. UCLA (31-10, 7-8 Pac-10) beat Pepperdine during the midweek after having been swept by Arizona State last weekend in L.A.

Friday night's game will feature a starting pitching matchup of Husky junior lefty Geoff Brown against Bruins righty Gerrit Cole. Saturday at 2:00 p.m., UW RHP Andrew Kittredge will square off against UCLA right-hander Trevor Bauer. Sunday's starter for the Huskies in the 1:00 p.m. finale has yet to be determined, but the Bruins will give the start to southpaw Rob Rasmussen.
