Box Score

Corvallis, Ore. – Sophomore pitcher Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) hit her fourth career home run, while chalking up the complete game win in the Oregon State softball team’s (23-28, 3-14) 2-1 Saturday upset of the No. 7 Arizona State Sun Devils (40-12, 9-8) at the OSU Softball Complex.

The Beavers tallied four total hits, making the few hits count with timely hitting by junior Audrey Roderfeld (Vista, Calif.), who batted in the game winning run in the bottom of the sixth.

Hall broke up the scoreless game in the bottom of the second on the 2-1, belting one over left center to make it a 1-0 game. But Arizona State tied the game up in the top of the fourth on a ground out RBI after a pair of singles to start the inning.

After a pair of scoreless innings, junior McKenna Lowe (Tustin, Calif.) scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth on Roderfeld’s two-out RBI single to the right side, just missing the outstretched glove of second baseman Ashley Muenz.

Hall earned the complete game win, improving to 17-20 on the season, scattering five hits and striking out six. Arizona State’s Hillary Bach suffered the complete game loss with both runs earned, making her record 22-5.
