Cory Primm and Turquoise Thompson have been named Pac-10 Track Athletes of the Week by the conference after impressive competitions this past Saturday at the Oxy Invitational.

Primm earned the honor after having ran the fastest 800m time in the NCAA this season, a lifetime-best of 1:46.63 to win the event. That time is also No. 2 on the USATF outdoor list and second all-time in UCLA history. Primm came into the meet ranked fifth in the NCAA after running a lifetime-best of 1:47.56 in the dual meet with USC last weekend. He lowered his best my nearly a second on Saturday.

Thompson earned the honor after winning the 400m hurdles competition at Oxy. She ran away with the race as she won by over two seconds, crossing the finish line with a new lifetime-best of 57.11 (old best from high school, 57.67). That mark moves her into UCLA's all-time top 10 at the No. 10 spot and is the top mark for a freshman in the NCAA this season.

This is the first Athlete of the Week honor for either team this season.
