Covington to Throw First Pitch at Sunday's Baseball Game

(Springfield, Ore.) will throw out the first pitch at Sunday's Oregon State baseball game against Washington beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.



Covington, who wrestled at 174 pounds, will be representing the 2010 Pac-10 Championship wrestling team that finished the season with an 18-3 dual meet record. Covington led the team in pins with 15, the most since Oscar Wood in the 1998-99 season, and compiled a .851 winning percentage with a final 40-7 record.


The Beavers put together a 17-meet winning streak, the longest since 1984, while sending six to the NCAA Championships. The team was ranked as high as 14th, the best ranking under head coach Jim Zalesky and highest since the 2000-01 season. And Zalesky and redshirt freshman
