Former Beaver Linebacker Bryant Cornell Signs in CFL
May 12, 2010
Former Oregon State linebacker Bryant Cornell has agreed to terms on a contract with the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Cornell, a Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection in 2009, was a four-year letterman (2005-08) at OSU while playing middle linebacker. Cornell became a starter for the Beavers as a senior and finished the season tied for fourth on team with 61 tackles and an interception.
Cornell is the fifth former Oregon State football player to join the professional ranks in recent weeks. Following the NFL Draft, April 22-24 in which Sean Canfield was drafted by the New Orleans Saints, three others signed free agent contracts including: Damola Adeniji (Tampa Bay), Keaton Kristick (San Francisco) and Gregg Peat (Indianapolis).
