Softball Drops Friday Contest to No. 12 California

Berkeley, Calif. – The Oregon State softball team (24-30, 4-16) earned a pair of hits but dropped Friday’s contest, 6-0, to No. 12 California (40-17, 9-11) at Levine-Fricke Field in game two of the series.


Junior McKenna Lowe (Tustin, Calif.) and senior Tarah Black (Portland, Ore.) earned the team’s two hits.


California scored five unearned runs in the third inning to take the lead behind five hits and a Beaver error before adding another in the bottom of the fifth.


Sophomore Paige Hall (Portland, Ore.) was charged with the loss after throwing 4.1 innings, striking out three, making her record 17-22. Cal’s Valerie Arioto earned the complete game win, improving to 20-8.
