Fighting Irish Deny Golden Bears Trip to NCAA Quarterfinal
ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 12-ranked California women's tennis team ended its season in a 4-2 loss at the hands of sixth-ranked and fifth-seeded Big East Champion Notre Dame in the round of 16 of the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship on Thursday, May 20, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of championship host University of Georgia. The Golden Bears (20-6, 5-2 Pac-10) had advanced to the previous two NCAA championship matches and had posted their fourth-consecutive 20-win season before falling to the Fighting Irish (25-3). Blue Devils Upset Bruins in NCAA Round of 16
Athens, Ga. - The seventh-seeded UCLA women's tennis team saw its national title hopes come to an end on Thursday, as the Bruins suffered a 4-2 upset at the hands of No. 10 Duke in the NCAA Round of 16 at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Bruins end their season with a 21-4 overall record. The Blue Devils (22-7) move on to face second-seeded North Carolina in Saturday's quarterfinals. [Read more]
