Stanford Tops Leaderboard After First Round of NCAA Central Regional

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Stanford's men's golf team shot a three-under 277 on Thursday and are in first place after the first round of the NCAA Central Regional being held at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.

At minus-3, Stanford is two strokes ahead of Florida (279; -1) and three strokes better than LSU (280; E) heading into the second round on Friday.

The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, June 1-6, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Sophomore David Chung is in a four-way tie for second place after carding a three-under 67 on the Warren Course. He trails first round leader Alexander Sitompul of Michigan by one stroke heading into Friday.

Junior Sihwan Kim is tied for eighth after a shooting a one-under 69.

Senior Joseph Bramlett is tied for 13th after an opening round of 70, while Andrew Yun and Steve Ziegler are tied for 21st after opening with a pair of 71's.

Stanford will tee-off at 9:10 a.m. tomorrow and will be paired with Florida and LSU.
