SEATTLE - After rallying for two runs in the ninth and four in the 10th, the Washington baseball team got a two-run homer from freshman Chase Anselment in the 11th inning to beat No. 22 Oregon, 13-11, Friday night at Husky Ballpark.

In the 11th, freshman first baseman Eric Peterson led off by reaching when his deep drive to fell in off the glove of the Ducks center fielder. Anselment followed with a long homer to right, his fifth of the season, to deliver the win for the Huskies (27-24 overall, 10-12 in the Pac-10).

In the top of the 10th, a squeeze bunt from Jett Hart gave Oregon an 8-7 lead and a one-out, bases-loaded double from Danny Pulfer plated three more.

But in the bottom of the 10th, Washington got a two-run double from Doug Cherry and then a two-run homer from Caleb Brown to tie it back up at 11-11.

Trailing 7-5 going into the bottom of the ninth, Cherry and Brown singled to open the ninth for the Huskies. Pierce Rankin followed by laying a bunt down the third-base line, but the throw to first was wide, allowing Cherry to score and putting runners at second and third with no outs. A sacrifice fly from Julien Pollard plated Brown and then pinch hitter Max Kwan singled to right, but pinch runner Andy Smith was thrown out at the plate to preserve a 7-7 tie.

In the first, Oregon (35-19 overall, 10-12 in the Pac-10) took a quick lead when leadoff man KC Serna hit the second pitch of the game out of the park to left, putting the Ducks in front, 1-0.

However, Washington replied with a run in the bottom of the first to tie it at 1-1 when Cherry doubled and scored on two-out single from Rankin.

The Ducks went back in front in the second. With two outs, Marcus Piazzisi doubled to drive in two and then scored on a single from Danny Pulfer to give Oregon a 4-1 advantage.

The scoring continued in the bottom of the second. After a double from Miles Kizer, an infield single from Jacob Lamb and a sacrifice bunt, a single from senior Bradley Boyer drove in a pair to cut the lead to 4-3.

After all of the early offense, neither team was able to score again until the sixth, when the Huskies took their first lead. With one out, David Bentrott doubled. After moving to third on a wild pitch, he came home on a groundout from Boyer. Cherry then singled, moved up two bases on wild pitches and then scored on a two-out single from Brown, putting the UW on top, 5-4.

The lead, however, was short-lived. In the top of the seventh, the Ducks rallied for three runs with two outs. A pinch-hit single from Mitch Karraker drove in one to tie it before Shawn Peterson doubled to the right-center gap to bring in two more, making it a 7-5 Oregon lead.

The Huskies and Ducks square off Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and again Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Both remaning games will air live on television on Comcast SportsNet.
